Sweden Ghana Medical Centre Welcomes President Emmerson Mnangagwa

Sweden Ghana Medical Centre (SGMC) had the distinguished honour of welcoming the President of Zimbabwe, HE Emmerson Mnangagwa, to its facility today.

The visit marks a significant moment in SGMC’s ongoing commitment to advancing Cancer care delivery. During the visit, the President received detailed briefings on Ghana’s progress in healthcare delivery, particularly in the area of oncology. The delegation was introduced to SGMC’s advanced diagnostic and treatment capabilities, including the State of the art PET-CT Scan facility—an essential tool in the early detection and accurate staging of cancer diseases.

The tour also highlighted the Centre’s expanding treatment capacity, with focus on the installation of a new Infinity Linear Accelerator (LINAC) machine from ELEKTA. This advanced equipment is set to significantly enhance precision in radiotherapy treatment, reinforcing SGMC’s position as a first port of call for world-class oncology services in the sub region.

Guided by its mission of “taking away the burden of cancer,” SGMC is strategically positioned to serve not only Ghana but also patients across West Africa and beyond. The Centre remains committed to bridging the gap in access to advanced cancer treatment.

This milestone visit reflects SGMC’s growing reputation as a center of excellence and a key player in transforming healthcare delivery in Africa.
